So, I’ve started work on the illustrations. Typically, I’ll do sketches in pencil (to size), submit them to the art director for approval, and then complete a final version in line & wash using india ink on hot press watercolor paper. Here are some sketches for the first four chapters of The Fiend and the Forge. While I leave some details vague/unfinished, I typically like my sketches to be fairly well resolved so there are few surprises in the final piece.
